May we introduce a private moment from a close friend of Dr. Buls.
There is "...the thanksgiving for faithful Harold Buls, pastor, missionary to Nigeria, Russia, Kazakhstan, Eritrea, 1950s South Alabama (mission work among African Americans), professor of New Testament Greek, supply and vacation pastor for my second parish and my friend. His witness lives on in thousands of pastors and first generation Christians worldwide.
"We buried him Tuesday in his academic robes, holding his worn out Greek New Testament, from which he taught so many. There is joy mixed with grief for a servant gone to his Lord."
Reverend Bob Smith
Following are the sermon and exegetical notes of Prof. Emeritus, Dr. Harold Buls, Professor of Exegesis at Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne. These notes were written for the Lutheran Church of Russia in conjunction with missionaries who are studying with pastors at St. Petersburg, and will be translated into Russian at the Lutheran Studies Center in St. Petersburg (LCMS). They are based on the gospels of the one year lectionary series in use there. More studies will be added as the work is converted to plain text.
Dr. Buls is an occasional lecturer in St. Petersburg and Alma Aty, Kazakhstan.
These texts are also available at Concordia Theological Seminary's CUIS GOPHER
